Helping Veterans Find Work in Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville, Fl has the third largest military presence in the county with military installations such as Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, Kings Bay Naval Base, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, Naval Aviation Depot Jacksonville and Marine Corps Blount Island Command. Also, the recent relocation of the three navy ships, New York, Iwo Jima and Fort McHenry, to Mayport, will help provide a needed boost for the industrial base. Jacksonville also has the naval hospital and the ever growing Wounded Warrior Project headquarters.

According to the Marine Times, November 11, 2013, USAA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Hiring Our Hero's project created a list "The Best Places for Veterans: Jobs". Surprisingly, Jacksonville, FL was not mentioned among the top 10 large, medium or small cities that are prime areas for veterans finding work. We need to become more active in helping our military veterans find employment.
